He is warm and dry to touch, no bowel sounds, pulse of 140 beats/minute, blood pressure of 160/90 mmHg, temperature of 38.4°C. He has dry chapped lips and fixed, dilated pupils. A Foley is placed with return of 1.5 L of urine.
